thanks once again everyone for your kindness Derya is still very poorly I'm afraid, the last thing I heard she was still on the ventilator and had to have lines inserted into her heart because it was labouring at 170, this was to try to slow it down by artificially increasing it's blood flow.
On the plus side I know she was stable overnight no upturns but no downturns either and as we know in kids one of the biggest problems medics face is how quickly they go up and down.
I have heard nothing since because my friend is spending the day at the hospital with his family, He is himself just recovering from a heart attack he had last year so not hearing from him is scary, but also understandable so I'm trying to stay calm myself.
The family have been told it will probably be 7-14 days before she will be off the ventilator so it's still early days yet.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I drove the 300 miles yesterday to stay a couple of days with my friend, I had been working Saturday and Sunday nights as well as the drive and have been very tired since, which is why I can only apologise for not getting online sooner, anyway ... Good news Derya was taken off the ventilator yesterday  She was then transferred the 200 miles back to her local hospital, a stress the family could have done without but due to expediency caused by limited beds in the speciality hospital. Anyway she seems to have coped quite well and today has eaten a little piece of toast and a small amount of yoghurt as well as taking a feed of milk from her mummy. She is still in the high dependency unit but this seems like good progress. Once again thanks to all of you who have been sending loving thoughts and encouragement to me and her family. I will be travelling back home tomorrow as I am working but will keep you all posted Oh and the other thing I just found out I got her age wrong she will turn 1 year old this Friday 6th March. Hmm, did I miss all this?
Well, I am glad she's doing better. Hopefully this is the turning point and she only gets better and better from here.

sorry I haven't been near a computer for the past few days and have been unable to update every one .
Derya was allowed home on friday for her birthday and is doing well so far. The family have a big list of does and don'ts and she is under virtual house arrest lol with absolutely no contact with other children for 3 months.
She remains on strong antibiotics and anti fungals but is now running around and playing!!!!
I just want to say thankyou to everyone who has taken the time , trouble and care to think of her in whatever form and to let you know how much it means both to me and to her family.
May I also take this opportunity to hope that anyone else who faces this kind of trauma meets with such kindness and friendship as I have here

I read your first message here and although I did not have time to let you know that I was with you and baby Derya ..... now I wish that you know that all this time I have been with you to send all my good energy and love for Derya Now I am so happy for the good news that she is improving I will continue sending all my positive energy and I will keep to she in my thought so that she recovers completely .... also I wish to share for if it can to help provide encouragement ..... there were serious problems during my birth 51 years ago .... I was in an incubator ... was just a breath of life so the doctors were not sure that I could survive .... but my grandfather told to my father .... : "babies in their fragile appearance .... they are of great strength .... she will to get ahead" ..... he was right .... here I am ...  The science has advanced to steps giant since then and baby Derya in her fragile appearance also has great strength .... she will can to get ahead too!
