Flora, did they ever figure out what was actually wrong? Is she home for good at this point?

thanks everybody for your kindness, just to answer Claudia's questions.... Hopefully she is home for good now although her chest is still very rattly and she's still on strong meds! All being well, she is improving , still very up and down as children are wont to be but overall moving in the right direction. The cause was a viral infection over laid with bacterial and fungal infection, so it was a matter of stopping her little body from succumbing to the bacterial and fungal infections for long enough so that it could deal with the virus by itself. The virus was never identified. I have since been told that they did in fact lose her at one point and she was resuscitated, she was always a precious little girl as every child should be, but she is doubly precious now  |

Wow Flora... I'm so glad to hear that all is well... I can't even imagine. what a layering of illness... and those chest infections are outrageous.

Flora, glad to hear she is with her family, It is amazing how strength comes from people we have never met, yet share a love of life. never be afraid to come to people and voice concern. The world really is smaller then you think. I want to hear some good news soon, prayers are still with everyone... Rilleysmom

Just to let everyone know that Derya has been discharged from all follow up appointments, she has come on in leaps and bounds LOL quite literally as she is running and bouncing all over the place and hugging and kissing everyone in sight as usual.
Just to let everyone know and to say once again thanks to such a great and caring bunch of people. The world is a happier place to have you all in it
